Change is good, and YOU'RE WORTH IT!

My weight issues surfaced when I became pregnant.  Before I knew it, I gained five times more than my doctor had expected and went from 120 to 200 lbs!  My eating was out of control! I just couldn't stop.

Fortunately, I addressed the emotional issues that were triggering my weight gain and finally understood my personal plight in the mood-food-hormonal connection.  After delivering a healthy baby, I lost all my excess weight and more.  Since then, I have maintained my original weight for 15 years, and I feel still feel great.

How did I make the connection?  I stopped hiding from my problems and found the courage to take a good look at myself and what I was doing to my body.  I learned that I needed to start loving myself more and stop my inner critic.  I knew I had to deal with WHY I was overeating, or I would never conquer this weight problem.  Once I did, I made the decision that food would never rule me again!  (And it doesn't!)

Since 2002, I have been helping my clients recognize and address their own emotional connections with food.
I believe this is a vital step that everyone needs to take in order to lose weight AND maintain a healthy lifestyle.  I have also learned that we need each other in order to overcome fears, anxieties and depression.  For many years, I tried to manage my own problems without any help.  I didn't want anyone to tell me what to do.  But I needed to be steered in the right direction.  Others came into my life and revealed this truth to me.

Here I am with Steve, who lost 150 lbs. in one year.  This photo was taken for a December 2005 article published in The State Journal Register, which featured his success.  It's an amazing process that I invite you to learn more about!
